Gold Team Instructors
Read below to read about our outstanding and dedicated instructors!

Sean O'Hara
Master Sean O'Hara is a 6th degree black belt in Taekwondo, a 2nd Degree black belt in Hapkido, and actively trains in arnis and bo staff. He instructs in Taekwondo and Hapkido classes, and is a test examiner at JP Wood. Master O'Hara is additionally an International Referee with Moo Do Won International.
Daniel Kelly
Master Kelly is a 5th degree black belt in Gumdo, 1st degree in Taekwondo, and actively trains in Hapkido, Arnis, Bo and Nunchucks. He is a Koryo Gumdo instructor, a member of the school's Honor Guard, a National referee with Moo Do Won International, and Samurang Games Grand Champion in forms. Outside of the school, he is the CFO of a contracting company. He loves to travel with his wife, and loves animals....
Master Wendi Raker
Master Wendi Raker is a 5th degree black belt in Taekwondo, 2nd degree black belt in Koryo Gumdo, and 1st degree black belt in Hapkido. Master Wendi teaches Taekwondo, Dragons and Strength and Conditioning classes, as well as private lessons. She is a Kukkiwon 3rd Class Master Instructor and Test Examiner, Partner Forms Gold Medalist at the Samurang Games, and an active National Referee with Moo Do Won Int'l and test examiner at JP Wood. Both her sons are black belts and instructors on the GOLD Team Instructor program.


Master Larry Schumacher is a 4th degree black belt in Taekwondo. He instructs Taekwondo classes, is a referee at the Samurang Games, and a test examiner at JP Wood. Master Larry was an avid competitor years ago winning numerous competitions in forms and sparring.
Master Schumacher is married with 2 children and 3 grandchildren and is a Deacon at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Palatine.

Master Mary Lou Erickson is a 4th Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo, 1st Degree in Gumdo, and actively trains in Hapkido. She instructs in our Taekwondo and Dragon classes as well as private lessons.
Miss Mary Lou is a also member of our Referee and Examiner Team. Outside of the school, she is an accomplished figure skater and instructs figure skating group and private lessons.
Mitch Marbella
Mr. Marbella is a 3rd degree instructor who has trained in Taekwondo since his college years. Additionally he trains in various weapons.
Mr. Marbella is married with two children, and his family all actively train in martial arts and workout classes. In his professional life, he manages logistics and is active in his community.


COLLIN ARIAGNO
Master Collin is a sophomore mechanical engineering major in college, has been taking Taekwondo classes at J.P. Wood since 1st grade and is currently a 4th degree black belt. When able, he instructs family Taekwondo classes, is a member of the Demonstration Team and Honor Guard, and has helped in numerous summer camps. He is also the reigning grand champion in the Samurang Games spin hook kick competition.

Lucas Raker
Master Lucas is a freshman pre-physical therapy major in college and holds a 4th degree black belt in Taekwondo. He was a Taekwondo instructor during his high school years, and now he instructs when home on school breaks.
Master Lucas is also a member of the school's demonstration team, test examiner team and color guard. He is Gold Medal Forms and Partner forms winner in the Samurang Games, as well as fast kicking Grand Champion.

Jack Raker
Mr. Jack is a Senior chemical enginering student in college, a 3rd Degree black belt in Koryo Gumdo, and a Black Belt in Taekwondo. When home from school, Jack is a Koryo Gumdo instructor and member of the school's Honor Guard. He is also a GOLD Medal forms and sparring competitor, Festival Grand Champion, and referee at the school's Samurang Games.
Outside of the martial arts, Jack enjoys scuba diving and chess.
Master Anish Mukherjee
Master Anish is a Senior at Fremd High School, has attended JP Wood Martial Arts for Ten years, and is currently a 4th degree black belt in Taekwondo. He is an assistant instructor in Taekwondo classes and a member of our Examiner Team.
Outside of the school Mr. Anish is an accomplished singer, and actively volunteers with several organizations.


Evan Smith
Mr. Evan is a 3rd Degree black belt in Taekwondo, training at JP Wood for over 13 years. He is a member of our Test Examiner Team, gold medal winner at Samurang Games, and assists our demo team.
Evan is a senior at Palatine High School where he is an honor roll student, and has been on their football, lacrosse and track and field teams.
Samantha Nieman
Miss Sammy is a sophomore in college majoring in mathematics, and teaches at JP Wood when home on school breaks. She is a 3rd degree black belt in Taekwondo and teaches in the Taekwondo and Dragon classes. She joined JP Wood's instructor team because she loves working with kids and tries to promote fun and good behavior when she teaches.
Miss Sammy is a Samurang Games Grand Champion in partner forms, and is on the school's demonstration team.
